History

Recognising the necessity for educational spaces and the importance of collaborative endeavour in our country, we established the Hami Association (support for the development of educational and cultural spaces) in 2010 to provide support for children and adolescents in underprivileged areas. Through a needs assessment and expert collaboration, we identify and mobilise charity resources to construct schools in underprivileged areas.

Since 2008, we've been building cultural bases to connect children and adolescents with the world beyond their own experiences. Our goal is to inspire a sense of curiosity and creativity by introducing them to different cultures, issues, and sciences. To further this mission, we've added a new dimension to our activities - the construction and equipping of rural libraries - providing young people with a space to explore, express themselves, and discover their talents." We firmly believe that education plays a vital role in shaping the excellence of our society and is, in many ways, a potent tool for poverty reduction. With this perspective, since 2011, we have turned to empowering children and teenagers through educational support, thereby taking Hami Association’s initiatives to new heights.

Activities

Education infrastructure development: We construct and maintain schools in underprivileged areas, fostering academic success through regular site visits, provision of essential resources, and targeted support initiatives. By doing so, we empower students to thrive in a conducive learning environment

Establishing rural libraries: Through a multifaceted approach, this project involves building and equipping the library, as well as providing regular support through periodic visits, annual book fairs, and educational programs and workshops. Our goal is to engage children and adolescents in the community, foster a love of reading, and promote literacy.

The Book Backpack Initiative: Bringing Reading Materials to Remote Communities: In collaboration with remote and sparsely populated villages, we have implemented a unique project that brings mobile libraries to these areas in the form of backpacks. These backpacks, which are periodically circulated, provide up to 1,500 volumes of books for reading every year.

Enhancing education for students, teachers and managers: holding educational workshops to ignite creativity and motivation, along with improving knowledge and refining teaching methods, through collaborative efforts with education professionals and volunteer instructors
